2023

This is the 150th Anniversary of the RCMP, so the band and dancers partipated in a very large number of events.

  • Performed at the Hogman-eh (New Year’s Eve) party organized by the Scottish Society of Ottawa
  • Participated with members from across Canada in the Massed Bands at the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland.
  • Joined contingents from all RCMP Pipe Bands at the RCMP “Depot” in Regina for the presentation of the new Guidon
  • Presented a show at the Maxville Tartan Ball and at the Friday night Tattoo, as well as joining in the Saturday Massed Bands at the Glengarry HIghland Games
  • Marched in parades in Merrickville for Canada Day and at the Navan Fair and presented a show at the Carleton Place Tattoo
  • Two band members assisted with the Change of Command of V Division in Iqaluit, Nunavit – See details
  • Appointed two Pipe Sergeant Emeritus and promoted two Pipe Sgts – See details
  • May 27 and 28, performed for the RCMP Veterans’ Association ball, then the Memorial service at Beechwood; both events to mark the 150th anniversary of the RCMP – See details
  • Piped for the Change of Command ceremony on 25 May where Commissioner Mike Duheme took over command of the RCMP from Commissioner Brenda Lucki and for the “O” Division change of command ceremony in Toronto on November 1st
  • Paraded with the Ottawa Police Service Pipe Band at four Sunset ceremonies with the RCMP Musical Ride at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa
  • Represented the RCMP at the funerals of Police Officers killed on duty in Barrie (OPP Cst Grzegorz Pierzchala) in January, Trois Rivieres (SQ Sgt Maureen Brault) in April and Ottawa (OPP Sgt Eric Meuller) in May
  • In May, a 42 member composite band visited the Netherlands for 10 days, to participate in celebrations of the 78th anniversary of the Liberation from Nazi occupation in 1945 – See Details
  • The band presented a concert at Orleans United Church in April to a sell out crowd. Our first concert since 2019
  • Band members participated in training of Police Service Horse Noble prior to her presentation to His Majesty King George III – See Details

2022

As life began to return to “normal” the pace of events for the band picked up and more of our regular events were back on the schedule. As is normal for this band, there were new performances on the schedule; some exciting and some very sad

* performed in Massed Bands at the 15th Basel Tattoo in Switzerland – See Details

* performed at the Inaugural National Capital Highland Games

* Attended the Ontario Police Memorial in Toronto and the National Police Memorial in Ottawa

* joined the Musical Ride for a performance for His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and at the revival of the Sunset ceremonies – See Details

* Represented the RCMP at the funerals of Police Officers killed on duty in Toronto, Halifax, Barrie and New Westminster

* street parade for the Manordale Knoxdale Community Association. This was a morale booster event for that area, which was still without power after a storm ravaged the area in early May

* led the Canada Day parade in Merrickville, the Remembrance Day parade at the Orleans Legion and a celebration of the Hawkesbury Legion’s 75th anniversary

2021

The band was still on stand down from performing due to the precautions relating to the Covid 19 pandemic

* Funeral of Toronto police Cst Northrup in Toronto

* joined with the Musical Ride for two shows for first responders at the Canadian Police College

*Remembrance Day parade and mini band show at the Orleans Legion

2020

The band was on stand down from performing due to the precautions relating to the Covid 19 pandemic, so very limited events

* Funeral of band member Bill Fairlee at Christ Church Cathedral

* open house for the Musical Ride at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa

* 3 mini band concerts at Seniors’ residences to cheer up the residents; Chapel Hill home, Centre d’accueil Champlain and St Patrick’s home

2019

* New Hampshire Highland Games, Loon Mountain NH. Dancers perform with Red Hot Chili Pipers.

* Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Edinburgh, Scotland as part of RCMP composite band.

* Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, Halifax NS as part of RCMP composite band.

* Shanghai Tourism Festival, Shanghai, China.

* Belfast International Tattoo, Belfast, Ireland with “H” Division.

* Glengarry Highland Games Friday Night Tattoo – in recognition of 20th anniversary of RCMP tartan.

* 20th Anniversary Ceilidh at Cartier Square.

* RCMP Pipes, Drums and Dancers receive RCMP Commander’s Unit Commendation.

2017

* International Festival of Mayan Culture, Merida, Mexico as part of RCMP composite band.

* New Hampshire Highland Games, Loon Mountain NH. Dancers perform with Red Hot Chili Pipers.
