Here are the Highlights and Major Events from our band’s lifetime:

2020

The band is on stand down from performing due to the precautions relating to the Covid 19 pandemic

2019

26 Nov – Band performs in the National Division RCMP Change of Command parade in Hull, Quebec, as A/Commr. Bernadine Chapman takes command from D/Commr. Mike Duheme

19-22 Sep – Band travels to Loon Mountain to perform as duty band for the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival.  Our highland dancers are invited to dance for a 2nd time with the Red Hot Chili Pipers in their sold out show.

August – A contingent of band members, augmented by members from other RCMP bands across the country, participated in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

July – band members participated in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo

June – Bands of both Ottawa Police and RCMP Pipes, Drums, and Dancers perform in the annual RCMP Sunset Ceremony shows with the Musical Ride before Canada Day.

June – National Division leads the 4th national RCMP Drum Major’s Course in Regina at the RCMP Training Academy Depot Division

16-17 Apr – Band travels to Toronto to play for the RCMP “O” Division Change of Command parade

2018

Sept 14th – 16th – The Band travelled to and participated in the Shanghai Tourism Festival in Shanghai China – China Trip

3 Aug – Band performs with 53 RCMP pipers, drummers, and dancers at the Glengarry Highland Games Tattoo in Maxville as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the RCMP Tartan.

June – Bands of both Ottawa Police and RCMP Pipes, Drums, and Dancers perform in the annual RCMP Sunset Ceremony shows with the Musical Ride before Canada Day.

April – CEILIDH AT CARTIER SQUARE – 20th Anniversary celebration of our Tartan

March – The Band as a group was presented the Commander’s Unit Commendation – first time a civilian unit has been given this award

2017

25 Nov – Band performs at TD Place in Ottawa for the pre-game Grey Cup Show

Oct 17-22 – Band members and dancers travel to Merida, Mexico to perform for the International Festival of Mayan Culture

Sep 23 – Band leads RCMP Veterans Assoc members, and Musical Ride members through Beechwood Cemetery to the RCMP National Memorial Cemetery where they perform for the lighting of the Memorial Flame at the RCMP monument

Sep 15-17 – Band travels to Loon Mountain to perform as duty band for the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival.  Our highland dancers are invited to dance with the Red Hot Chili Pipers in their sold out show.

30 Apr – Band organizes and performs in a Dominion Chalmers fundraiser concert

2016

December 1-5 – Four band members traveled to Hong Kong, China to participate in ceremonies commemorating the 75th anniversary of the battle of Hong Kong. (Band Trip)

September 6-12 – Band travelled to Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival, Estes Park, Colorado, USA

June – Bands of both Ottawa Police and RCMP Pipes, Drums, and Dancers perform in the annual RCMP Sunset Ceremony shows with the Musical Ride before Canada Day.

May – National Division leads the 2nd national RCMP Drum Major’s Course in Ottawa with assistance of the Canadian Forces Ceremonial Guard

March 8th – A New Mace is presented to the Band. The Old Mace (1932) was retired.

2015

August 7th thru 29th – Edinburgh Military Tattoo (Edinburgh, Scotland) (Band Report)

July 5th – RCMP stand sentry at the National War Memorial in Ottawa (News Story)

June – Bands of both Ottawa Police and RCMP Pipes, Drums, and Dancers perform in the annual RCMP Sunset Ceremony shows with the Musical Ride before Canada Day.

May – After development, National Divison leads and runs the 1st national RCMP Drum Major’s Course in Ottawa with assistance of the Canadian Forces Ceremonial Guard

May 1st thru 10th – 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherland Composite Band Trip (Holland)

2014

Jun 10 – 15 NCR Band Members participate in Funeral for Officers Doug Larche, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, and Dave Joseph Ross held in Moncton, New Brunswick

June – Bands of both Ottawa Police and RCMP Pipes, Drums, and Dancers perform in the annual RCMP Sunset Ceremony shows with the Musical Ride before Canada Day.

Mar 17 – St. Patrick’s Day Parade , Montreal, Quebec – Awarded: Best Military Unit
